Staccato Alprazolam as rescue medication for adolescents with epilepsy

Research Question:
What is the safety profile of a single dose of Staccato Alprazolam in adolescents with epilepsy?

Basic Study Information

Purpose:
After a screening visit, subjects between the age of 12-17 would be admitted to the Clinical Research Center for 36 hours. During their admission, they would receive a single dose of alprazolam by inhaling the medication into their lungs. They would be observed for 36 hours with 6 sets of vital signs and blood draws. Eligibility: Adolescents with epilepsy (either focal and/or generalized), ages 12-17, who weigh below 110 lbs and who are in generally good health. Potential subjects must currently be taking at least one medication for their epilepsy.
