Nurse Residency Program

Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency ProgramTM

In 2020, St. James joined on a new innovative program called Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program in an effort to support and prepare new graduate nurses to be successful independent Registered Nurses.

The Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program has provided 20 years of successful evidence-based curriculum to help newly licensed nurses transitioning into their first professional role. Nurse residency is an added layer of support, in addition to the newly licensed nurse’s orientation and preceptorship experience.

In this program, nurse residents come together monthly for the first 12 months of their career to network with and learn from content experts in the organization. During seminars and clinical practice, nurse residents transition from advanced beginners toward competent nurses. The NRP focuses on 4 critical domains: Leadership, Quality Outcomes and Professional Role and Scholarship for Nursing Practice.
