Rev. Robin Y. Franklin, Director, Chaplaincy Services

Robin Franklin

Robin graduated from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta. She became interested in CPE while matriculating at ITC and decided that she wanted to learn what it meant to help pastors, laypeople, and others to become more effective pastoral caregivers. She has been fully certified as an ACPE Supervisor since 1997. She has been at Strong Memorial Hospital since 2002 and became the Director of Chaplaincy Services in June 2003.

Rev. Kevin M. Boyd

Rev. Kevin M. Boyd, Associate Director, Chaplaincy Services


Kevin is a graduate of Stetson University and the University of Chicago Divinity School.  He completed two years of CPE residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago before becoming the Director of Field Education at the University of Chicago Divinity School. After completing his CPE Supervisory process, Kevin worked at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Upon relocating to Rochester, Kevin taught the Hospice course at the Harley School before joining URMC as the Associate Director of the department. Kevin’s areas of interest include Medical Ethics and narrative in medicine, specifically how the experience of being ill is understood and articulated by patients.

Rev. Patti Blaine

Rev. Patti Blaine, Pediatric Chaplain

Patti is the pediatric chaplain for UR Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital (GCH). She is a graduate of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School with a Master of Arts in Religious Studies and Certification in Anglican Studies. Patti is ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal Church. She is particularly interested in interfaith hospital chaplaincy, and has enhanced her knowledge in that area through coursework at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace. She completed a CPE internship and two CPE residencies at URMC, and has been a per diem chaplain for Strong, Rochester General, and Highland Hospitals. Patti is thrilled to be working with the pediatric populations, their families, and the staff at GCH.
