Heart Transplantation A Fully Integrated Heart Transplantation Program The University of Rochester Medical Center has one of the best cardiac transplant programs in the United States with one-year survival rates greater than 90%. Critical Care Cardiac Transport Team URMC Heart & Vascular Center provides a dedicated Critical Care Cardiac Transport Team, available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, to ease the transport of critical cardiac patients. This is the only team of its kind in New York State. Critical Care Cardiac Transport Team members include: Respiratory therapist Perfusionist Cardiologist Cardiac surgeon Critical care nurses Current Research As a part of the Center for Cardiovascular Research at the University of Rochester Medical Center, the Heart Failure Program is working to advance the frontiers of cardiology and cardiac surgery. By supporting research and education, the program contributes to the development of new technology and the training of physicians from around the region and the nation in leading-edge techniques.
