Unordered & Ordered Lists

Unordered Lists

Unordered lists are synonymous with bulleted lists, and should be used whenever the items are to be presented in no particular order. They appear as shown:

  • First unordered item
    • First nested unordered item
    • Second nested unordered item
  • Second unordered item
  • Third unordered item

Ordered Lists

Ordered, or numbered, lists should be used when presenting items that follow a particular order, such as instructions or directions. They appear as shown:

  1. First ordered item
    1. First nested ordered item
    2. Second nested ordered item
  2. Second ordered item
  3. Third ordered item

Combination of Unordered and Ordered Lists

  1. First ordered item
    • First nested unordered item
    • Second nested unordered item
  2. Second ordered item

OR

  • First unordered item
    1. First nested ordered item
    2. Second nested ordered item
  • Second unordered item

Aligned Lists

Use these styles to align a list to the left, right or to create two side-by-side lists.
