Course Description

The Flaum Eye Institute proudly presents the 68th Rochester Ophthalmology Conference. This year's meeting is highlighted by our Snell Memorial and Frederick Dushay Distinguished Visiting Professor lectures featuring  Michael Chiang, MD and Valerie Biousse MD. In addition,the program features the third year of the Ross Debates in Ophthalmology. These Pro vs. Con style lectures present two sides af a controversial topic with audience participation encouraged.

Objectives

  • List the potential risks of intraocular injectable pharmaceutical agents used in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration
  • Describe attributes of intraocular lenses used in cataract surgery
  • Describe medical and surgical approaches to myopia, corneal disease, ocular tumors, ocular inflammatory disease, retinal disease, and neuro-ophthalmic disease
  • List the benefits and challenges of trabecular procedures in the treatment of glaucoma
  • Describe the use of diagnostic instruments in the treatment of eye disease
  • Describe the role of artificial intelligence in the management of eye disease

The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Certification

The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
