and Health Care Research at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she completed a Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship.
Dr. Hoilette believes in the care of the whole patient and empowering and equipping patients and families to live in the best health they can. She also feels that healthy communities create space for people and families to thrive in every area.
Dr. Hoilette has special interests in team-based care, practice transformation and social determinants of health as well as behavioral health, treatments for substance abuse, and helping medically under-served communities.

I usually feel a little let down after my annual checkup and feeling like, that's it? I answer a bunch of generic questions and don't get much feedback on anything I should change or do to improve my health. They don't really DO anything. I am left wondering how I am doing. I would appreciate feedback good and bad about how to Improve my health. Compared to other patients my age is my health better or worse than the average person? I would like some kind of benchmark. I know how I am feeling and my general health. I would like to know how the DOCTOR thinks I am doing and get specific feedback on how to improve my health.

Part of this visit involved filling out a directive. Dr. Hoilette was informative, inserted information of which I was not aware and those clarifications were of great value to the task at hand. I appreciate the fair and open dialogue with her during each appointment.

I had unusually high blood pressure. Dr. Hoilette put an order in for an ambulatory BP monitor and told me at check out I'd be told where to pick it up. That did not happen. My experience would have been better if the communication was clear between doctor and reception area personnel.

All went well. I'd contracted COVID, and being over 65 (70, to be exact) I was concerned that antivirals might be necessary. Through discussion we determined they weren't. So I'm glad I had all the vaccinations & boosters

I felt uncomfortable during my visit when the doctor was laughing (nervously maybe?) when I brought up different concerns or things that I do- for example, jazzercise. I did. It feel comfortable bringing more things up. And she did not communicate well with the other members of the team about next steps.

I like going to Dr Hoilette. When she finished going through my medications and bloodwork results, she saw that I had a list of questions written down. She said before we start my physical exam we should go through them. I thought that was very considerate of her to notice I had questions and to make sure she took the time to answer them.
