Dr. McPhee is devoted to the comprehensive care of her patients. Her mission is to help her patients achieve optimal health through promoting healthy lifestyle and disease prevention/management. Her goal is to provide high quality, compassionate care through open communication and respect for her patients' concerns.
Dr. McPhee has special interests in diabetes, hypertension, women's health and adolescent health.
On a personal note, Dr. McPhee enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, assisting with her kids' sports activities, and doing outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and going to the beach.

I have had a rough year going through cancer treatment for DLBCL. I had so many large things going on with the now recovery phase of my treatment that I had many little small things going on that I just didn't go to the doctor about. Dr. McPhee addressed all of these small things -dry eye, using energy efficiently while recovering from chemotherapy, cleaning my ears because I thought I was losing my hearing (ears filled with wax and scabs from ear drum rupture after COVID, managing my ADHD, vaccines, colonoscopy, etc. I felt like a different person walking out of that visit with an arsenal of useful information that I useful information to manage my life. I have an ongoing battle with depression but with information that helps me navigate the daily "pains" of life, I can keep going with fewer visits to therapists. Dr. Mcphee understands that about me and helps keep me going in a straight line. I am so grateful to have her as my PCP.

I called in the morning for an appointment and was told no one was available and to go to urgent care. Dr. McPhee learned of my call and had her nurse call me and have me come In within the hour. Dr McPhee is exceptional. She was able to problem solve a complex medical condition and get me started on needed treatment ASAP. She also was able to identify a potential problem that I need to have testing on. Her ability to listen and understand my concerns helped me to relax. Autoimmune flares have a severe effect on my health. Her experience help to prevent me from going to the hospital. I am very grateful that I was able to see her. She is incredible.

Dr. McPhee did and has always provided excellent care for me. She is a wonderful listener and always provides answers to any healthcare issues I have. This time she went above and beyond getting me an appointment with a neuro-surgeon to address a problem which showed up a month earlier in a MRI I had done at the UofR imaging. I cannot imagine there is a better health care provider than Dr. McPhee. She has been my primary provider for many years. I was a patient of hers originally at another provider's office and when she left that practice I waited about one year for her to surface again. This was a pre-surgical exam and permission to proceed to scheduling surgery date. Dr. McPhee also answered questions I had regarding the surgical booklet I had received from my orthopedic surgeon. That helped me to respond to the few questions I had about the procedure. I never feel rushed. She has been my primary physician since she started practicing. I followed her when she moved to URMC that is how much faith I have in her! I attribute my excellent health to Dr, McPhee always advising me on ways to keep healthy, and managing my medical issues related to my age and heritage.

Dr Catherine McPhee - I couldn't ask for a better provider than Dr McPhee. She always ensures my concerns are met with compassion, understanding, and respect. She addresses these concerns thoroughly, and always puts my anxieties at ease. Dr McPhee not only cares on a medical level, but on a personal level as well. I can tell that she really takes the time to get to know me as a person, and doesn't just recognize me as one of her many patients. I am very grateful for Dr McPhee's continued support and kindness to me. I hope when I become a physician, I am able to provide the compassionate and preeminent care that Dr McPhee gives to me.

Dr. McPhee has been my primary physician since before she joined URMC. I followed her! Doesn't that say how much I trust her. She has had me in her care during a cancer scare, and sent me to the best doctors in their field. I was lucky, as mine was caught quickly and surgery eliminated my thyroid cancer. Some images in my left lung looked suspicious and I have been followed for three years this coming [...] 2023. I expect to get a clean bill of health in that area. The thing I like is that with each of these physicians they explain everything about what they are going to do. I always have a list of questions as well. They answer those as well. I feel I am an equal partner in my health care. I am 83 going on 84, and besides good genes for longevity, the doctors I referred to, keep me healthy! [...]

Dr Catherine McPhee is outstanding! From my first visit to the most current visit she always listens to my concerns, explains things thoroughly and respects my input. In addition Dr McPhee has never treated my visits or the exam room as a revolving door. I have been to a few other providers that barely take 8 minutes for your visit in the exam room that I will never go back to.

I can't imagine there is a better physician than Dr. McPhee. I am so pleased with the care she has provided over the years. She Is extremely knowledgeable and follows-up expeditiously on everything. After seeing her at this appointment she felt I needed a couple of CT scans and she had them set up to be done within hours. She felt I needed evaluation from a vascular surgeon and that appointment was set within 3 working days. The results of the CT scans were provided by Dr. McPhee the same day and also placed on "My Chart." You would have a huge loss If Dr. McPhee ever left UR Medicine.
