About Me
Dr. Donaher received her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Vermont. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and performed clinical internships in ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, contact lens, and primary eye care in private practice and throughout the VA system. She went on to complete a residency in ocular disease and low vision at the Jesse Brown VA in Chicago. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry and the New York State Optometric Association in addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

I still don't seem to be able to see clearly despite being told I "should " with the prescription I had and that my glasses were accurate to the prescription. I was told my issue was due to my glasses slipping. I said even with the glasses in place, I frequently don't see well. I still don't.

Would have liked a bit more time spent fully reviewing the findings from her exam. There are findings indicated in her chart note (e.g., cupping of the optic nerve) that were not discussed with me. While I presume that's because they were not significant or worrisome to her, it would have been good for her to tell me about that and why I also should not be worried.

A year ago. Dr Brooke recommended eating more greens such as kale, collards, and spinach because it would help improve my eyesight. It helped and also helped with weight loss.

This provider used a soft contact lens for my corneal abrasion, which provided almost instant relief. I have had corneal abrasions before, and No One has ever used this treatment on me before.

Based on her exam, the provider gave me a lot of information for which I was totally unprepared for and blindsided me. I did not fully understand everything she said but didn't have time to process the information in order to ask appropriate questions. I will have to follow up through MYCHART for follow up with my questions.
