The LSLC runs programs at the University of Rochester Medical Center in one of our two laboratories. Programs include camps during summer-break, and field trip programs during the school year.
These programs meet during school breaks. Try out a one or two week session! All session run for 3 hours per day and include hands-on lab experiences and fun exciting science problems to solve.
Would you like your students to experience gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, medical mysteries or culture plant stem cells? Explore our nine different high school field trips. These 4-hour laboratory investigations (including a 30-minute lunch break) are designed for groups of students accompanied by their teacher, for grades 9 – 12. Cost varies by class.
**In light of cuts to funding for science education at NIH, the LSLC is not taking any new registrations for field trip programs for 2013-14
LSLC offers professional development workshops on a variety of topics to give educators experience with cutting-edge science technologies. These 5-hour, hands-on workshops also provide teachers with innovative instructional materials that align with New York State Math, Science and Technology (MST) standards, as well as National Science Education Standards.
