Research Overview

 Dr. Anolik is a physician-scientist in systemic autoimmunity and human B cell biology with a research program in translational immunology focusing on the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the development of novel treatment paradigms.She has been one of the pioneers in the use of B cell depletion for the therapy of autoimmune diseases and investigation of the effects of B cell depletion on immune function in SLE and RA patients. Her laboratory currently focuses on the investigation of B cell tolerance and homeostatic mechanisms in early B cell development, the effects of B cell targeted therapies on this process, autoantibody independent functions for B cells including interaction with the T cell and innate immune compartment, and the use of murine models of B cell depletion and autoimmunity. She is the Director of the URMC Lupus Clinic and an investigator on the University of Rochester Autoimmunity Center of Excellence (ACE). 

Dr. Anolik has served as a mentor for many students in the past and continues to mentor future scientists in her lab. She is also very active in the Lupus Clinic and Program and in community education.
