Continuing Education

The mission of the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) Office for Continuing Medical Education is to support the professional development of physicians and other health care professionals through educational activities designed to change competence, performance and/or patient outcomes.

We are committed to developing, organizing and implementing quality interdisciplinary educational activities that incorporate basic science concepts, clinical practice, recent literature, and scientific research perspectives on the best currently accepted clinical practices.

The University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Rochester Medical Center, Center for Experiential Learning is recognized by the New York State Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0005.

To certify your activity for CME and/or Social Work credit:

  1. Review the requirements listed on pages 1-2 of the UR Continuing Education Activity Development Form, and consult our website for more information. Please contact our office with any questions.
  2. Complete the UR Continuing Education Activity Development Form, and complete and attach the supporting documents.
  3. Submit the UR Continuing Education Activity Development form at least 30 days prior to the activity start date.

UR CEL Education Management Portal

The Office for Continuing Medical Education provides an online education management portal that allows participants to register for an activity, generate their transcript, complete an evaluation and claim credit for an activity, manage their profile, or maintain their planner/presenter disclosure.
