About Us
Founded in 1993, as the Women's Health Partnership, our health screening program is now called the Cancer Services Program of Monroe County. The Cancer Services Program is part of a larger statewide initiative run by the NYS Department of Health’s Cancer Services Program. This initiative is focused on increasing the rates of cancer screenings among priority populations. Similar partnerships can be found in every county across the state.
Our program is a unique partnership with over 40 community based agencies and 100 health care providers in Monroe County.
In additiion to paying for initial cancer screenings, if a diagnosis of breast, cervical or colorectal cancer is found and the client has no insurance to cover treatment, the Cancer Services Program of Monroe County will help the client apply for Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program coverage. Case management is also available for those needing additional support and assistance as they go through diagnosis and treatment.
The Cancer Serivces Progam is affiliated with the Center for Community Health, University of Rochester Medical Center.
