What is Maxillofacial (Facial) Trauma?

Maxillofacial trauma, or facial trauma, is any injury to the face or jaws. This can include:

  • Burns or deep cuts
  • Blockage of the nasal cavity or sinuses
  • Damage to the orbital (eye) sockets
  • Fracture to the jawbone
  • Missing or broken teeth
