Make Appointments & Get Care
What is Oculofacial Plastics & Orbital Surgery?
Oculofacial plastics and orbital surgery is a discipline of ophthalmology concerned with the surgical repair of the structures and soft tissues in and around the eye. Oculofacial plastic surgeons are called upon to make modifications to these structures and tissues when disease or trauma occurs–especially when visual function is compromised. They may also perform cosmetic procedures to enhance facial harmony or rejuvenate appearance.

What Sets Us Apart?
Our oculoplastic and orbit service is staffed by American Society for Oculofacial Plastic and Facial Reconstruction Society (ASOPRS) fellowship-trained surgeons. The ASOPRS designation is your guarantee that your surgeon is rigorously trained in the science and art facial instruction. It also means that they are fully trained in ophthalmology and understand the function of the eye and how to maximize functional visual outcomes in balance with cosmetic appearance.
Our main facility includes our own surgery center on the second floor of Strong Memorial Hospital, just below the Eye Institute’s faculty practice clinic. Here, we are the only oculofacial plastics and orbit group to use the Orbeye 3D surgical visualization system, which provides surgeons with the most detailed view of ocular structures. We also have a second ambulatory surgery center located on Sawgrass Drive.
Because of this, we’re able to routinely perform complex procedures that were once referred to eye care centers hundreds of miles away, saving you time and keeping you close to home.
We’re also part of National Clinical Trials and are ranked in the top 20 in eye research funding in the United States, including an NIH-funded studies about thyroid eye disease eye disease. So, you can be assured that our care is informed by the latest scientific discoveries.
