Our physicians are certified by the American Board of Dermatology and hold full-time faculty appointments at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition to these clinical faculty, our physician group includes a dermatopathologist, Dr. Glynis Scott.

University Dermatology Associates treats both adult and pediatric patients with a wide variety of dermatological problems including acne, warts, dermatitis and skin cancers. In addition, the clinical faculty have special areas of interest. Dr. Brown directs the Dermatological Surgery Center located in this office providing outstanding cancer care utilizing Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr Beck's specialty is atopic dermatitis and eczema. Dr. Mercurio specializes in hair and scalp disorders and lupus. Dr. Papier has special interest in skin allergy. Dr. Pentland is an expert in photobiology and specializes in bullous diseases, psoriasis, and treatment of skin disorders with phototherapy. Dr Tausk specializes in skin diseases that interface between dermatology and psychiatry. Of particular interest is skin diseases exacerbated by stress and emotional problems. Dr Tu's interest include disorders of ethnic skin and the use of laser- and light-based therapies to treat skin disorders such as vascular birthmarks.

Twelve additional part-time clinical faculty also practice at University Dermatology Associates on a rotating basis, including two pediatric dermatologists.

Since we are affiliated with the University and Strong Memorial Hospital, teaching is an integral part of our program. Patients are also seen by a dermatology resident, who is a licensed physician receiving specialized training in dermatology. Often a medical student or a resident from another program will accompany your doctor during the examination.
