Choosing to talk with a counselor, for some, is a big decision. Individuals generally seek out counseling when their usual way of coping with a situation is not working. Counseling offers a way for individuals to gain perspective on their behavior, emotions and relationships. Counseling is not someone telling you what to do. It is an interpersonal helping relationship which begins with the client exploring the way they think, how they feel and what they do, for the purpose of enhancing their life. This process can be applied to personal or work related situations.
