Community Outreach and Activities
Faculty, residents and students working within the department of Family Medicine are encouraged to be active in serving the Rochester community. Our activities interface with programs for student within the medical school.
- UR Well: Many of our faculty are regular preceptors at this medical student-run free health center, located at St Joseph’s Neighborhood Center within the South Wedge neighborhood.
- Research: Inquiries are welcome from students interested in research projects with our faculty. Special areas of expertise include refugee health, deaf health and patient-doctor communication.
- Student outreach is strongly supported by the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Family Medicine faculty are available to provide mentorship for student projects in community and global health.
