Dr. Wen-Jye Lin's lab
The Lin Laboratory is mainly focused on inflammatory signaling (NF-κB and STAT3) in prostate cancer initiation and progression, as well as characterization of roles of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in this disease process. The role of the inflammatory signaling in prostate cancer development and progression is still very elusive, and a valuable mouse prostate tumor model is essential to define molecular events of inflammatory signaling that lead to the cancer initiation and progression.
Our laboratory is establishing two mouse prostate tumor models (PTEN+/- and TRAMP) as in vivo platforms to study the role of inflammatory signaling pathways, such NF-κB and STAT3 in the prostate tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Previous studies have shown inflammatory infiltrates are found in prostate cancer lesions. Using these two established tumor models, we can study how TAMs play a role in promoting prostate tumor development and progression.
