Notability

Notability is the .PDF annotating application provided to SMD medical students for their iPads. Annotation provides users with the ability to add their own mark-ups to PDFs, especially those collaborating as a team on shared documents. The types of annotations that can be created and edited in Notability include typewriter text boxes, popup comments ("sticky notes"), text highlights, freehand drawings, lines, arrows, rectangles, ovals, cloudy shapes, text underlines, strikeouts, text insertion marks. In addition to supporting large PDF and TXT files Notability also handles the most popular file types:

  • MS Office - .doc, .ppt., .xls
  • HTML and Safari web archives
  • High resolution images
  • Audio and video

Notability lets you create folders, move, copy and rename your files; zip, email and unzip them; plus send your files to other apps.

Note: The Notability app does not natively provide the ability to move files within folders on Box.com. To do so you need to download the file you wish to move and then upload it to the desired destination folder. If you log in to Box.com from a browser you can easily move files within folders on Box.com in a single step.
