Overview
The University of Rochester Medical Center has offered midwifery services since 1975. The Midwifery Group, has been in existence since 1992. We look forward to caring for you and getting to know your family. We would like to welcome you to our practice.
Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) are highly skilled professionals who have received formal training in primary care and women’s health from a nationally accredited program. As part of their training, CNMs are required to take a national exam before they can enter into practice. All of the midwives at Midwifery Group are Registered Nurses who hold graduate degrees and are members of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
We are all faculty members in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the University of Rochester. There are currently 10 CNMs in Midwifery Group. Among us, we have 145 combined years of midwifery experience! Primary care, contraception, gynecology, and obstetrics are the areas of focus for most midwives.
