Keynote Speaker
NYC firefighter Matt Long will talk about his brush with death after a horrific accident and how he summoned the courage to recover. Three years and some 40 surgeries later, he went on to compete in the Ironman triathlon. Long has chronicled his ordeal and grueling recovery in a book titled "The Long Run" and has appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and HBO Real Sports. In 2010, Men’s Health voted him one of the Top 10 Men of the Year, and Men’s Fitness designated him as one of the Top 25 Fittest Men in the World. Long has founded the non-profit I Will Foundation, established to help people overcome adversity and challenges caused by illness or traumatic injury.
