Deaf Healthcare Survey

CAHPS flyer

General Information

RPRC:NCDHR has developed the Deaf Healthcare Survey, a computer-based sign language version of the Consumer Assessment of Heathcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®). CAHPS® is a family of surveys that focus on patients' experiences with healthcare in doctor's offices, hospitals, and other healthcare settings.

The Deaf Healthcare Survey was given in sign language on a touch-screen laptop using the same platform as the RPRC:NCDHR Deaf Health Survey. About 100 deaf adults 18 and older took the survey.

Researchers are now analyzing the data and will share the results in the future through publications and presentations.
