As a research university, we spend a lot of time talking about research partnerships with industry. During this F.I.R.E. session, we looked at research collaborations from industry's point of view. The presenter was Charles Philip, Manager for University and Government Relations at Corning, Incorporated. Corning currently partners with several universities and government organizations globally, but most organizations do not know or understand how Corning benefits from these relationships around research. The presentation explored the objectives and benefits to working with Universities such as U of R, as well as why Corning has a Core University Strategy.
