Areas of Excellence - Anatomic Pathology
In addition to our main clinical lab, URMC Labs offers numerous Laboratory Areas of Excellence. These are labs within the URMC system that offer specialized tests and services.
Each of these Laboratory Areas of Excellence offers its own expert consultants to work with you to better understand and apply the unique tests offered by that lab.
For more information on any of these labs and the tests they offer, please call or email the contact person listed with that lab.
Anatomic Pathology Services
Neuromuscular Disease Center Laboratory
Anatomic Pathology services include cytopathology, hematopathology, neuropathology, and surgical pathology. Pathologists in the URMC Labs review more than 40,000 surgical specimens and 80,000 cytopathology specimens per year. Active autopsy service with over 340 cases per year.
Of special interest: Cases sent for consultation in neuropathology, cytopathology, and renal/transplant pathology can be discussed with telephone voice connection supplemented by real-time Internet video transmission of microscope images.
