URMC labs provides the widest range of lab services offered by any lab in the area. This is, perhaps, the area where our collaborative nature is best expressed: Our patients and physician partners require an exceptionally broad array of services, so that is what we provide.
What we do.
URMC Labs provides clinical laboratory testing, consultations and educational resources to private practice physicians, researchers, nursing homes, health centers and regional hospitals.
We offer a full range of diagnostic services in anatomic and clinical pathology. These include the following:
- Autologous and directed blood donations
- Chemical dependency drug monitoring
- Electron microscopy
- Fine needle aspiration biopsy clinic
- Lymphoproliferative and immune deficiency studies
- Maternal multiple marker studies for fetal defects
- Muscle and nerve biopsies
- Neuropathology consultations
- Renal biopsies
Hours and Locations
We believe in making our services available to you when and where you need them. As a result, we now have the most lab service locations of any lab in the area. We are also the only lab offering extended evening hours at selected locations.

Top experts & advanced testing
Our association with the University of Rochester Medical Center enables us to provide advice and expertise of the highest caliber when you need it. Faculty members are available to provide consultations in coagulation, hematology, hematopathology, immunology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry.
In addition to providing a comprehensive menu of tests for pathology and laboratory medicine, URMC Labs offers a wide variety of more specialized tests, including those for endocrinology, tissue typing, hepatitis testing, and specialized lipid testing.
