The Stanley F. Patten Fellowship in CytopathologyThis one-year, ACGME-accredited, program offers advanced training in diagnostic cytopathology, including application of ancillary techniques such as immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, molecular diagnostics and electron microscopy to cytologic specimens. Considerable emphasis is placed on correlations between cytopathologic and surgical pathologic diagnoses. Fellows learn to perform superficial FNAs. They also participate in interdepartmental conferences and in teaching residents and medical students. This fellowship is based primarily at Strong Memorial Hospital with an opportunity to rotate to Rochester General Hospital. Applicants should be Board eligible or certified in anatomic pathology or AP/CP. Lectures and PresentationsConsortium faculty are regular speakers at local and national meetings. Their lecture and workshop topics include gynecologic cytopathology, liquid-based workshops in gynecologic and glandular lesions, body cavity fluids, breast fine needle aspirates, head and neck cytopathology, and urinary cytopathology.
