The "clinical" in Dr. Berenson's title indicates his primary position at Highland Hospital, the URMC community hospital known for its comprehensive women's services, nationally ranked geriatrics program, and regional leading gastric bypass program. His main interest is in anatomic (not clinical) pathology, although his clinical interests have included gynecologic, breast and gastrointestinal pathology; transfusion medicine; and immunology.

Dr. Berenson's research interest is in tumor immunobiology, with recent projects focusing on breast and GI malignancies, and lymphomas.
