Technologist Development & Continuing EducationThe Department periodically offers audio and video conferences from professional organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Tapes of earlier presentations are available from Ed Kohmeier (275-7801) for Microbiology or Sue Cross in the ground floor lab office (275-9668) for all other topics. Implementation of New York State licensing requirements for clinical laboratory technologists has created new challenges. The laboratories are currently working with Broome Community College to provide online courses for current lab staff who need to upgrade their educational credentials in order to qualify for professional licensing. URMC staff are eligible for tuition benefits, and many lab staff take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their capabilities. Questions?
