Research Bio
RESEARCH INTERESTS: Outcomes research with a focus on the elderly, long-term care, and end-of-life.
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: Dr. Temkin-Greener's current research is focused in three areas: 1) Quality of care - developing outcome measures and assessing quality of care in community-based, hospital and long-term care settings; 2) Organizational performance - developing and validating care process and team performance measures; 3) Aging and Long-term Care - assessing the impact of individual and organizational risk factors on quality of care for vulnerable elderly.
Dr. Temkin-Greener recently completed NIH-funded study to empirically test the relationship between organizational performance and quality of care in nursing homes. She is currently the PI on another NIH-funded study to develop individual and composite risk-adjusted quality measures for nursing home residents who are at the end-of-life. Under a contract from the National PACE Association, Dr. Temkin-Greener runs the PACE Data Analysis Center (PDAC), which receives data from 75 PACE organizations and analyzes the impact of Medicare risk-adjusted payment models.
