Professional Bio
Dr. Cullen received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, followed by a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from the Queen's University of Belfast, Ireland. His postdoctoral training was completed in the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center from 1999-2002. Currently, he is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Basic and Translational Research Division. His research interests focus on the effects of patterns on alcohol consumption on the development of atherosclerosis and on monocyte activation in relation to sepsis, MODS and mortality after surgery, injury or infection.
