Patient Care Bio
Dr. Ryan participates in gastrointestinal, liver transplant and hepatobiliary working conferences for clinicians. Strong Memorial Hospital is a United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) transplant center for adult and pediatric transplant surgery and the only hospital in New York serving the upstate and western regions. Dr. Ryan is responsible for diagnosing the great majority of liver transplant biopsies and has received additional training at the University of Pittsburgh in the interpretation of both liver and small bowel transplant biopsies. She has also studied heart transplant pathology at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City and has helped cover that service for the last 9 years.
