Our programs for patients provide non-surgical treatments for patients of all ages with a wide spectrum of neurologic, orthopaedic, and painful conditions, as well as other rehabilitation needs.
We take a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to our patient’s care. The rehabilitation team, led by a physiatrist (a doctor who specializes in rehabilitation medicine), may include physical, occupational, speech, and recreational therapists, a neuropsychologist, social workers and rehabilitation nurses, as needed.
We are here to help patients regain their independence by providing the best equipment and techniques combined with patience, sensitivity, determination and a positive attitude. With our patient and family centered approach, we listen, educate, support and encourage family members to be involved in all aspects of care based on each patient’s needs.
CARF-Accredited – Our Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, Spinal cord injury and Stroke systems of care are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the agency responsible for setting the standards for the delivery of superior rehabilitative care. We are the only CARF-accredited Spinal Cord System of Care in the region.
What does it take to raise caring to a whole new level? It takes Medicine of the Highest Order. Over the course of his recovery, Dr. Berk has become convinced that hospitals have to make time for caregivers to get to know their patients so they can feel good about taking care of someone, and the patient has time to let the caregiver know they appreciate the care. "Compassionate caregiving is an amazing experience". See Dr. Berks amazing transformation.
