The mission of the University of Rochester Proteomics Center is to provide “state of the art” proteomic technology to aid the work of University personnel, from theoretical experimental design through clinical sample analysis. The Proteomics Center provides protein characterization support, with analytical strengths in mass spectrometry and separation sciences. In a classical proteomic application, a complex sample matrix (such as serum) is separated into individual protein fractions, the identities of which are then determined with mass spectrometry. The Center processes a myriad of sample types, from complex clinical matrices to simple purified proteins, for identification of unknowns or verification of identity. In addition to serving as a support lab, the Center collaborates with other researchers to obtain internal and external funding. Our services are welcome to be used by faculty within the University, other academic institutions as well as commercial/industrial institutions.
WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!
Bio-Rad has generously donated 5 liters of their SYPRO Ruby protein gel stain to the Proteomics Center. For every 5 mass spec samples submitted for analysis, we are offering a sample of this stain. Please contact us for more details.
