IVF Success Rates at Strong Fertility Center Among the Best

Pregnant coupleWith more than half of its embryo transfers resulting in live births, URMC’s Strong Fertility Center surpasses the national average for in vitro fertilization (IVF) in women under 35 years of age.

IVF success rates are collected and published annually by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART). The primary organization of professionals dedicated to the practice of assisted reproductive technologies in the U.S., SART reports success rates from more than 390 member clinics.

Strong Fertility Center’s IVF success rates were some of the best in all age categories. In women under the age of 35, more than 51 percent of embryo transfers resulted in live births; for women 38 to 40, the rate of 38.1 percent was among the highest in the nation.

Additionally, Strong Fertility Center had high success rates using frozen embryos and donor eggs, while maintaining a low rate of cancelled cycles and low percentage of live births with triplets or more.

“We attribute our success to a renewed focus on patient-centered care, the support and guidance given by our dedicated nurses and staff, and the experience of our embryologists and physicians,” said Strong Fertility Center Director Kathleen Hoeger, M.D.

The Center’s IVF laboratory is directed by Rajesh Srivastava, Ph.D., a skilled embryologist whose arrival in 2006 has correlated with a steady rise in annual success rates.
