Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Training
UCAR adopted the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) online program for basic, species-specific, and surgery training. On January 1, 2010, all new investigators and staff will be required to complete the CITI courses (www.citiprogram.org).
If you are not working with human subjects, skip to the Lab Animal Welfare Courses.
The CITI training courses available include:
- Investigators, Staff, and Students
- Aseptic Surgery
- Reducing Pain and Distress in Laboratory Mice and Rats
- Species-Specific Training for the following animal models:
- Cats, Dogs, Gerbils, Guinea Pigs, Hamster, Mice, Non-Human Primates, Rabbits, Rats, and Swine
The CITI courses can be completed prior to attending Animal Resource Orientation. Animal Orientation, non-human primate safety, rodent colony management, MicroIsolator Technology Training, rodent euthanasia, and facility tours are still required. If you will be working with ferrets, chickens, and non-human primates*, the training materials are available in the UCAR Office.
*Personnel who work with non-human primates must complete the CITI and UCAR training courses/material.
Please use the new Modification to Add/Remove Staff Form. Instructions for creating an account and training requirements are available in the UCAR office (275-1693).
