Conditioning Therapy

Chemotherapy or radiation is delivered to the patient prior to stem cell infusion to destroy cancer cells, starting 1 to 7 days before the transplantation. The patient is treated on our inpatient unit or in our IPOP (inpatient/outpatient) center on the BMT unit, so our care team can monitor any side effects, infection, and response to treatment.
