Finding subjects to participate in clinical research studies is a challenge and many studies do not reach their recruitment goals. This web site was developed to assist Health Research Investigators and their teams by providing resources to help with their recruitment and retention efforts.
Resources on this site include:
Presentation: Diversity in Human Subjects Research: Beyond the IRB. Prepared by Ann Dozier, RN, PhD, April 2012.
Recruitment Marketing - Information and examples of how to advertise a research study. It contains samples of print advertisements, posters, postcards, flyers, letters to other researchers and potential study volunteers.
SCORE (Study Coordinator's Organization for Research & Education) - Provides support in research, continuing education, and regular opportunities for networking for URMC Research Coordinators and staff. Become a member!
Community Based Resources - Links research investigators and their team members to other resources to facilitate access to community organizations that support health research studies. They aim to join forces with the community to eliminate disparities and improve health through research, education and service.
ResearchMatch - ResearchMatch.org is a national secure website. It aims to serve as an effective, useful and complementary recruitment tool that will help connect willing volunteers with researchers who are searching for appropriate volunteers to be placed in their research studies (not just clinical trials). Find out how investigators use this tool!
Recruitment & Retention Into Clinical Research Education Course - This graduate course in recruitment and retention focuses on strategies and tactics to improve participation among minority and underserved populations.
Recruitment Consultation Services - Investigators or their team members can schedule consultations to address concerns and challenges they have regarding recruitment and retention for their planned or existing individual research studies. Schedule a recruitment consultation.
Posting Open Research Studies - Information on how to post or edit a trial or other research study on the URMC Clinical Trials Search site.
