This prepares them for a wide range of procedures including all types of surgery involving the bones and soft tissues of the face, mouth and neck. Some oral and maxillofacial surgeons may seek additional fellowship training in specific areas such as craniofacial surgery, facial cosmetic surgery and other related areas. More information regarding specific procedures and conditions can be found at www.aaoms.org.
Patients who are anxious may require sedation for their outpatient surgical experience. We provide sedation and anesthesia care in a monitored, safely administered, and controlled manner, by providers who are well trained in these anesthetic techniques.
