Ashley Harmon, M.D.
Dr. Ashley Harmon completed her undergraduate training at Xavier University of Louisana and medical school at the University of Louisville. She then finished her psychiatry residency at the University of Cincinnati where she served as Chief Resident for 2009 - 2010. She received the prestigious Laughlin Award for 2009 -2010 from the Laughlin Family Foundation given to outstanding psychiatric residents. She has prior research experience in EPSCoR through the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the field anatomical neurosciences at the University of Louisville and focused on muscarinic connections in the parabrachial region. She also participated in research as a MIRT Fogarty Scholar through the National Institute of Health (NIH) and spent time abroad in Dominica focusing on the incidence of type I diabetes. Her current interests include the study of intimate partner violence in the elderly, community education and outreach to raise awareness in mental health issues in older adults.
