A Letter from the Residents
Greetings from Rochester, NY!
We are very excited that you are considering our Pediatric Neurology Residency Program and happy that you might join us, in what we consider to be the most fascinating and fun enjoyable field in medicine!
Here at the University of Rochester, we have wonderful, friendly and supportive faculty who happen to be world renowned for their expertise and research pursuits. Our adult and child neurology training programs rank amongst the best in the country, with truly exceptional education and patient experiences. Throughout our training, education is a priority – with an emphasis on both teaching us how to become excellent child neurologists as well as instructing us how to become great teachers. This is best exemplified by the opportunities residents have to teach in the 2nd year neuroscience course, and to teach in Krakow, Poland during the chief year!
It may come as a surprise, but not only do we love our program, we also adore our city! Rochester has so much to offer- from world class jazz concerts to sporting events, amazing restaurants and bars, gorgeous hikes, wine tours, and so much more. And the best part is that we have time to enjoy it all! We also live very comfortably on our resident salary, whether you’re a home-owner in the suburbs or a renter in the city.
We believe it’s important to choose a residency program that provides top-notch training experiences, but that also allows for personal time to pursue hobbies and interests (and sleep!). Our division is truly a supportive family that creates the ideal environment to learn and grow as a resident. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our terrific program and people!
