Current PGY-1 Residents




Aspen Ainsworth, MD - Aspen graduated from SUNY Buffalo. She received her BS from SUNY Geneseo and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key International Honour Society. Aspen enjoys gardening, cooking, beer and wine tasting, reading, and camping. She is interested in adult psychiatry and medical student education.





Tara Holter, MD - Tara graduated from SUNY Upstate and grew up in the Rochester area (Victor). Tara graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Biological engineering. She is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Some of Tara's interests are swimming, downhill skiing, reading, tennis and kickboxing.

Johnson Kirsten Johnson, MD - Kirsten graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a BA degree in English. She spent a hyear in Vienna, Austria and is fluent in German. Kirsten's hobbies include caming and canoeing, cross-country skiing, taking care of her dog and cat, cooking, crocheting, gardening, reading, writing poetry, painting and drawing, photography, playing guitar and learning the accordion, yoga, running and attending opera, classical music and theater performances.
Jones Rachael Jones, MD - Rachael graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New New Jersey. rachael graduated from Long Island University at Southampton with a BA in Marine Biology and was a marine biologist for the NY Department of Environmental Conservation and she also managed a Wellness Center. She has traveled to Fiji and New Caledonia. Rachael has many interests including women's flat track roller derby, spinning yarn, knitting, sculling, playing the bass, blacksmithing, cheese making, hiking, camping, maple syruping and animal welfare.
Simning Adam Simning, MD - Adam graduated from the Medical Scientist Training Program at University of Rochester with a PhD in Epidemiology. For his dissertation he conducted psychiatric research interviews with older adults living in public housing. He hopes to one day pursue a geriatric psychiatry fellowship. In 2005, Adam received a BA in Molecular Biology from Pomona College, CA. Adam is originally from Minnesota and his wife, Inga, is from Nebraska. Much of their spare time is spent outdoors enjoying the four seasons Rochester has to offer. The rest of their time is occupied with entertaining, and being entertained by, their baby girl, Mira.

Current PGY-2 Residents




Rachel Borden, MD - Rachel graduated from SUNY Buffalo. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received her MS from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She also studied at the University of Dublin. Rachel's husband is a lawyer for the US Energy Development Corporation. Both Rachel and her husband are originally from Akron, New York




Dana Mahmoud, DO - Dana graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dana received both graduate and undergraduate degrees from SUNY Binghamton. Her interests include fitness and travel. During her childhood, Dana moved around quite a bit and this gave her the advantage of interacting with people from many different backgrounds.




Rachel Nadbrzuch, MD - Rachel also graduated from SUNY Buffalo and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Rachel received her BS and BA from SUNY Buffalo. Rachel's interests are baking, watching hockey, reading, tennis, kayaking, horseback riding, hiking and spending time with family and friends. Rachel's interest is in child psychiatry.




Joshua Nelson, MD - Josh graduated from SUNY Upstate. From the Syracuse area, Josh graduated from LeMoyne College. His interests include basketball, golf, Frisbeen golf, hiking and cross country skiing. Josh expresses an interest in forensics, child and adolescent psychiatry and research.




Brittany Sauerborn, MD - Brittany graduated from the University of South Carolina. Brittany is married to an ex-Marine who completed his MBA. She has done missionary work in Honduras with the AGAPE Foundation and future goals include providing more international mental health and medical care.


Current PGY-3 Residents





Ryan Bochacki, MD - Ryan graduated from SUNY Buffalo. He attended RIT and Ithaca College as an undergraduate. Ryan is married to Rachel Flink-Bochacki, who is an Ob/Gyn resident. His interests are rowing, reading military history, working on his car, motorcycle, running, biking and skiing.




Annabel Fu, MD - Annabel completed her undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at the St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center.




David Osuna, MD - David joined our residency in 2011. He was drawn to psychiatry after his third year rotation in medical school. During the match factors that contributed to placing the University of Rochester above other programs included a solid clinical training, a very caring program director, happy residents and a suppportive environment. His interests include reading, chess, skiing, gaming and travel.




Gregory Sherman, MD - Greg also graduated from SUNY Buffalo. Greg is a member of the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society and has volunteered as a youth soccer coach, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and participated in Habitat for Humanity. His passion is music (guitar, bass, djembe) and the theater. He also enjoys horticulture, beer tastings, cooking and reading. Greg's girlfriend, Katina Foster, is an Ob/Gyn resident.
