The David and Ilene Flaum Eye Institute (FEI) is a growing center for subspecialty eye care, translational vision research, training and community outreach.

Established in 2002 as the University of Rochester Eye Institute, it was renamed in 2009 to reflect the support and advocacy of David and Ilene Flaum. Located in the Adeline P. Lutz Pavilion at 210 Crittenden Boulevard at the University of Rochester Medical Center, FEI provides easy access to the most advanced level of care available in the region.

Steven E. Feldon, M.D., M.B.A., director of the Flaum Eye Institute at the University of Rochester Medical Center, was named president of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology. The organization is dedicated to advancing the education, research and clinical care provided by academic medical center’s ophthalmologists. He will serve a one-year term.
