This ACGME accredited program offers core competency training in the clinical evaluation and management of neuromuscular disorders defined as diseases of the peripheral nerve, muscle, neuromuscular junction and anterior horn cell. The program provides training in the care of adult and pediatric neuromuscular patients in the outpatient clinic setting (MDA, ALS and Neuropathy Clinics) as well as in the inpatient setting. Training also include performance and interpretation of muscle, nerve and skin biopsies and nerve conduction studies, repetitive nerve stimulation, needle EMG, single fiber EMG, quantitative motor unit analysis and quantitative sensory testing. The opportunity to get involved in clinical research projects is also available.
The Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship is an ACGME accredited program. The ABPN subspecialty certification examination in Neuromuscular Medicine is available since 2008
