I am a board certified, fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity orthopaedic surgeon. It was during my fellowship that I began to take a strong interest in helping patients with ailments of the hand and upper extremity. It was at that time that I began refining my expertise in surgical treatments for trigger finger and carpal tunnel release, rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement surgery. In my practice, I specialize in endoscopic carpal tunnel release; hand, wrist, and upper extremity fractures; upper extremity arthritis including basal joint, wrist, elbow, and shoulder; arthroscopic shoulder surgery including rotator cuff repair; shoulder replacement surgery; as well as, peripheral nerve compression neuropathies and injuries. I regularly perform upper extremity trauma surgery for fractures as well as tendon and nerve injuries. I also specialize in wide awake surgical techniques, such that patients do not require sedation, including trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s contracture, mass excisions, and tendon repairs.

I see patients in Victor and Canandaigua because I am committed to keeping patient care local and maximizing the patient experience while minimizing their travel.

This provider, by far, is the excellent - He exceeds my expectations at each visit - He's caring, thoughtful "down-to-Earth" and relatives and does an excellent job caring for me.

I completely appreciated how the doctor led me through the injection he gave me. The words he said to me kept me calm and it was so quick. He was very thorough in his conversations.

I was seen for a probable rotator cuff injury. With the information the provider had the course of action could not be determined. An MRI was necessary to determine the extent of the Injury. The office arranged for me to obtain the MRI that evening and set up a follow up appointment 3 days later to determine the course of action required based on the severity of the injury. I have the follow up tomorrow am. They really helped out in arranging a quick turn around time.

Dr. O'Donnell was very disappointing. Bedside manner was aweful. My mom and husband were with me and he was arrogant and rude in all of our opinions. As soon as we left, we all said he is not touching me.

He didn't have an idea of what the problem was but I liked his idea of trying physical therapy before jumping into an MRI etc. I thought he would have a better diagnosis.....my PT seemed more sure of what it might be.

The doctor and his PA always seem to be in a hurry

Oct 13, 2022

I was given option of "splints that are a tad expensive, physical therapy, surgery with lengthy recovery or cortisone Injection" as treatment option by Amanda Rose PA and briefly reiterated by Dr ODonnell.....Im not sure that qualifies as a "discussion" of treatment options as the only in depth was risks, etc with injection as it was being set up and performed. He is excellent, dont get me wrong. I just am curious as to what PT would offer, and will ask. Really like both if these providers.

Dr. O'Donnell is top notch. He explained the surgery, post-surgery activities and recovery expectations! When I dislocated my shoulder, I feared I would never recover. Today, I'm recovering and the goal Is to be as I was prior to the Injury. I'm ecstatic!
