About Me
Dr. Barford earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth in Cleveland, Ohio, then completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. He is specialty board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at URMC. He currently serves as chief of the Musculoskeletal Medicine division as well as Associate Director of Informatics for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

I was a bit unclear on whether surgery was eligible, however due to the fact that I'm a smoker, I was told they dont perform surgery on smokers.

I have seen Dr. Barford previously for injections.He always listens to how my knee responded to the last injection. We discussed how the ultrasound guided corticosteroid injection would be a better choice this time. I am very appreciative of his care and concern for my health.

Dr. Barford is a very caring doctor, a good listener, and determined to offer solutions to help my pain. He fit me in the same day as my appointment for an injection. That provided much relief and allowed me to get back to PT and enjoy the holiday without pain.

There was a Resident working with Dr. Barford this visit, Dr. Kang and she should also get a Very Good rating in all these categories since she did the preliminary examination. In fact, put in a new box called EXCELLENT for both of them. They are very knowledgeable and easy professionals to work with.
