Dr. Aktas is a member of the electrophysiology section, and he takes care of patients with arrhythmias. Specific areas of expertise include ablation of atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardias (SVT), and ventricular tachycardia. Dr. Aktas is an expert in complete management of pacemakers, defibrillators, and resynchronization devices.
Specific areas of expertise include:
-Implantation, programming and monitoring of permanent pacemakers (PPM's), implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD's) and cardiac resynchronization devices (biventricular pacers or ICD's).
-Ablation of atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia (AVNRT), atrioventricular re-entrant tachycardia (AVRT), atrial tachycardia (AT).
-Ablation of atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation (AF).
-Ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT), including those originating from the outflow tracts and left ventricle.
-Extraction of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators.
-Direct current (DC) cardioversion.
-Tilt table testing.
