Professional Bio
Dr. Rashid received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He then went on to complete his internship in Surgery and residencies in Surgery and Urology at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester Medical Center.
From 2005 to 2006, Dr. Rashid was a Urology fellow in minimally invasive Oncology and Endourology at the University of Minnesota, Department of Urology in Minneapolis. Since that time, he has held the positions of Assistant Professor of Urology and Associate Professor of Urology in the URMC Department of Urology, as well as Assistant Professor of Oncology and Associate Professor of Oncology at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center.
Dr. Rashid expands the Department's expertise in robotic, laparoscopic and single incision surgeries. He specializes in surgical treatment for prostate, kidney and bladder cancer. He also performs partial kidney, bladder and lymph node removal.
Dr. Rashid is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York and is certifed by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Rashid is a current member of American Urological Association and Endourological Society.
In addition to authoring numerous publications, Dr. Rashid has participated in several research initiatives related to the fields of urology and oncology. He has also presented at both national and international levels.
