Professional Bio

Dr. Thompson Stone is a pediatric neurologist and neuroimmologist who specializes in the care of children with all neurological disorders as well as childen and adults with multiple sclerosis and related disorders (such as optic neurits, transverse myelitis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, and neuromyelitis optica). He went to medical school at New York University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society member). He went on to study adult and child neurology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and graduated from residency in June of 2011. Since then he has been been on faculty at the University of Rochester in the departments of Neurology and Pediatrics. Dr. Thompson Stone is the founder and director of the University of Rochester Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis clinic, and is an active member of the adult Rochester Multiple Sclerosis Center.



Dr. Thompson Stone is highly active in medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He serves as Director of the Child Neurology Residency Program, and Assistent Director of the 3rd year medical student neurology clerkship. He also has a significant amount of teaching experience including as liason to neurologic education to the pediatrics residency, and instructor in the 2nd year medical student neuroscience course. He was awarded one of the Dean's Teaching Fellowships from 2012 - 2014, and has been involved in several educational projects and initiatives.
