Professional Bio

Dr. Leonard is the Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer for the Golisano Children's Hospital. In this role, he oversees many quality improvement initiatives across the institution, working with physicians and staff to create a safe environment for pediatric care. He is the Chief Experience Officer as well, ensuring that patients and families have the best possible experience while receiving their care. Dr. Leonard is also a clinical informatician, partnering with URMC's Information Systems Division to bridge high-quality healthcare with our electronic medical record.

Research Bio

My research interests are in the areas of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, specifically:

Developing and evaluating strategies to improve the quality of patient care,
increase efficiency, and reduce the risk of medical errors and adverse events.

Integrating quality improvement and patient safety activities into medical school
curricula, residency training, and continuing medical education.
